Jeep offered a WiFi free 3 month trial on the new JL .. but how does it work?

Does it have a "hot spot" built in that uses a sim card?

It said it works with AT&T only.

I started the 3 month trial, set it up, and then never used it the entire 3 months. On the rare occasion I might need that, I have hotspot capabilities on my phone with Verizon, so for me, it's redundant.

And if I remember correctly, there's a pretty low monthly data limit with it.

AT&T offered me unlimited data for $15/mo after the trial in 2019. It was nice on long trips to use Pandora/etc and not think about it.

Isn't the connection only 3G, since that's what the radio hardware uses to download software updates and SiriusXM data?

It's specifically listed at s a '4G LTE Hotspot' so possibly a separate data connection.
