I've looked around trying to find this information, but cannot see that it has been addressed directly. So to those of you with the 2.0T engine that have changed to bigger tires, how did your Jeep respond to that change? I've owned several Jeeps with the 4.0, a few with the 3.8, and a few with the 3.6, so I know how they do with 35s or 37s. But what about this little 2.0T? With such small displacement does a set of 37s totally kill performance? Is it better or worse than any of the other Jeeps? Mine has 4.10 gears, and I wouldn't be against changing to 4.88s if I needed to.

My 2 Door Rubi still feels like a rocket ship on 37's and 4.10's 🚀
I wonder how much difference you are feeling due to the e torque.
Newer 2.0 do not have it.

3.5” metalcloak lift and 37” tires and beadlocks weighing 121# a tire and rim. My 2021 2.0t 4dr rubicon still gets and goes. My mpg dropped to about 15.5-16.5 mpg so far (so about 3mpg loss) and no noticeable loss of power on the street and seems to Offroad fine. But I’ve only been one time since the lift and tires were installed. Going again next weekend but I don’t expect any issues.

Do you see 8th gear much on the freeway?

I have rolling hills I drive in the interstate to and from work. 12 miles worth. And it drops to 7th a little sooner when I start up than it did before the tires and lift. But yes I’m in 8th a lot more than some of the posts lead me to believe. Either they are over exaggerating or my Jeep is magic. Lol. Or damn their tire set up is heavy. Because I thought mine was on the high side of heavy lol.

Drive 2hrs to Tuscumbia AL to the Offroad park last weekend. I got 16.3mpg for the two hour drive. Gear shifted like they should. Never found it hunting for gears and was in 8th on the flat roads and it would just go to 7th a little sooner on the uphills than it did before.

Have a 2021 2.0 that has a 2.5 lift, 37 km3, and 4.10 gears. Does great around town. Doesn’t do awful on the highway but can tell it has to work harder. I’ve been using premium gas. Believe when I was stock it was about 19 mpg on the highway. Since upgrading, I’ve taken it on two big trips where the speed limit was 75 mph and I got about 15-16

I just added 315/70r17 nitto ridge grapplers to my jlu non etorque base model. 30/35 axles and its been doing great. I recalibrated for larger tires and i am averaging about 17 in town and 18-22 on the highway. My wheels and tires are about 107 pound set up.

Thanks everyone. It sounds like the 2.0T powered JL's are pretty much like other Jeeps. The JLUR needs 37s, but I was hesitant to go to 37s with the smaller engine. Yet I didn't want to have to endure a case of 2"-itis, where you change from 33s to 35s, just to spend even more money going to 37s. Financially it is better to just skip 35s altogether.

I've got a 2020 JLUR wit the 2.0, Icon stage 2, and 37" KO2's and have no issues at all. It can still scoot leaving a stop light and no issues on highway. I average right at 15.4 mpg, with mostly city driving.

I have a 2021 JLUR with a Clayton 2.5" lift (more like 3.5" actual), Metalcloak fenders, and 35" tires. I'm running the M/T A/T and noticed little difference in get up and go. I regularly see 8th gear on the freeway, hill climbs are fine, and it's great off road. I came from a JKUR with 37" tires and just didn't like how much the tire itself changed all the dynamics of driving. I just made sure the M/T tire I chose was as close to a true 35" tire as I could get and the wheels be inexpensive and light.
If this wasn't my daily driver, I would move up to a 37" tire with the understanding that I would have to re-gear and upgrade many parts. I think the JKUR needed more upgrading honestly than the JLUR but for me, having 35" tires is truly the best of both worlds. Still fantastic on the street, still fairly quick, still handles like stock or a bit better. Pic to show what a 35" tire looks like. This is during the build process so apologies for missing parts.

My setup is in my signature. Still running stock 4.10s. When on the highway, I mostly drive between ~75mph and it will mostly hang out in 7th gear. Rarely do I see 8th unless I'm on a long stretch of flat ground or going downhill. Power wise, I always want more but it does well. I rarely see anything over 3500 rpm even on mountain passes, and that will only be if I'm doing it, not the cruise control. I dont believe for a second that the 3.6 could do that. We have a stock Ram 1500 with the 3.6 at work and that thing SCREAMS 5000+rpm if you get on even a mild incline.

My around town average (ESS ON) is usually around 15-16. Highway driving at 75mph I get around 15-15.5 average. Stock was 18 on the highway, 19 if I babied it.

I'm sure regearing would get 8th gear back and maybe an mpg or two.
