I am glad to see you got this to work.
I haven't had much luck with a 3" long Ram arm always working to loosen the ball (especially bad for me when off-roading or hitting the rough gravel roads), so after a bunch of time on this ended up with my clamp system.

But your post inspired me to try a new setup... and it's my new favorite because it keeps the air flow pointed up and phone out of the way. I just installed the clamp on the lower lip of the air vent.

I will need to grab a short, black charge cable to complete this.

I got one at my local Gabe's Outlet for $8.99, liked it so good that I went back and got a second one for my son. Holds well, even when bouncing over rocks.

Here's a link to a similar one, couldn't find the exact one online: https://www.amazon.com/Macally-Wind...etic+extendable+merkury&qid=1574343405&sr=8-4

Mine is the MERKURY brand magnetic mount suction cup with extendable arm. Even without it extended, it easily clears the dashboard.

I use the same thing and really like it. Easy to slide over if needed. Easy to remove when I run naked and park somewhere where it might be stolen without requiring any adjustments when reinstalling. Not inexpensive but what is that we've purchased for a Jeep.

So you don’t use the double sided tape to mount it? How’s that working out? Thanks.

I mounted a ram mount with suction cup to the lower left corner of my windshield but found it to be visually impairing and my OCD kicked in. I bout the handle bar bracket and attached it to the driver handle as i don’t really use it. So far I’m happy with this option. I just have to get readjusted.

I just installed the Off Roam mount yesterday. Not sure if I’ll keep it to the left of the screen or move it to the right, but it is rock solid. My only annoyance with it is that it didn’t come with instructions. I had to go in my phone to find the install video. It only takes a couple of minutes in total.
