Some of you seem to know the exact date a back-ordered part will become available. How do you get this information? My service manager seems to be guessing and can't give me an exact date for when a vibration dampener will become available. In the meantime, I'm in a rental car they provided.

Doesn't matter what date they give you. I was told 2 weeks for a pair of rear shocks because mine were leaking. They changed the date of arrival 6 times. It took 3 months before they came in.

I was going to say you can find out once you receive the parts, but felt a bit too snarky. Harrington however basically confirmed my overall sentiment that you only really know when you get the part in hand. You can sometimes get opinions from the sales folks, but they can be wrong too. I'm still waiting on a part from Nov, that was going to be shipped in two weeks, then by EOY, then in the first week of Jan, now next week.

Back-ordered parts are exactly that. There is typically no way to know how long it'll take. Look at all the forum posts about the dampener/stabilizer issues and you'll understand why

Hey Seansun01,

If you're looking for an ETA on parts, just PM us with the dealer name/location, your VIN and the date the part was ordered. If you have the part or order number as well, that is helpful. We can take a look into the order and see if we can assist!
