I purchased axle (Rock Hard 4X4) and frame (Rusty's Off Road) side LCA skids. Rear, axle side no problem. Rear frame side no problem. Front axle side - BIG problem.

Those factory bolts will not budge. I even bought a new Bauer corded impact driver that puts out over 1000 ft/lbs of removal force and those nuts are NOT coming off.

Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks

Heat it. Might have threadlock on it. Long wrench or ratchet. I have a breaker bar that is 24” long that I have supplemented w metal pipe at times. Slide the pipe onto the breaker bar to increase leverage. Archimedes is your friend.

Are you holding the other side?

How about a 24” breaker bar (or one with a pipe extending off it at least) and using a floor Jack on it (carefully of course ?)?

Im using a basic wrench to hold the other side but it doesn’t feel like much force is coming through.
Impact on bolt under vehicle and wrench on nut by tire.

Not sure if removing the tire will allow me to put the impact on the nit or not. If that even makes a difference.

The others all came right off.

I used a Bauer and it never loosened any of my front lower control arm bolts. Got my Milwaukee impact wrench and it had no problems taking those bolts off.

Like @jahysea mentioned…it probably has permanent threadlocker on it which should be heated to 500 deg F prior to removal if you’re having a hard time budging it.

Well shoot. Not super excited about using a blow torch on my brand new Rubi or spending even more $$$ on another impact wrench.

Have you tried your leg muscle pushing on breaker bar? That was my technique.

I also had this problem so glad to hear suggestions. I was afraid to snap a bolt with a bigger impact.. didn’t think of threadlocker/heat.
I will say I tried a smaller dewalt impact with no luck on some other arms and was able to break them with my 24” breaker bar, so leverage does work!
Guess I’ll try heat then breaker bar on the fronts..
