These new generation axles should be different from old school Dana 35 vs 44. Hard to tell yet but from what it looks like the M200 should be stronger than previous generations and more than adequate for most use. Maybe if your looking to run 37's and do some serious rock crawling you would have problems.

Rubicon models come standard with a 4.10 rear gear ratio and also use a Dana 44 axle in the front with either a 3.73 or 4.10 gear ratio. The width of the axle shafts is 1.31 inches. Rubicon models also come with an electronically lockable differential for optimal traction while in 4WD.

Has nothing at all to do with the OP or anyone else’s post....

I'm pretty sure every 4x4 ever built has the same front and rear ratio.

Some old Fords had 4.11 rears and 4.10 fronts ..;)
Crap. I knew there was going to be at least one outlier.

Sort of related: the Ferrari FF "has only two forward gears (2nd and 4th) plus reverse (with gear ratios 6% taller than the corresponding ratios in the main gearbox), so the system is only active in 1st to 4th gears. The connection between this gearbox and each front wheel is via independent Haldex-type clutches, without a differential. Due to the difference in ratios "the clutches continually slip" and only transmit, at most, 20% of the engine's torque." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_FF#Four_wheel_drive_system
