How bad is registration in your area?

Ok I know Jeeps hold their value but Good God! $768 initial registration and now $752 for first renewal, only a $16 drop for the registration! Yowza! I loaded my Rubicon JLU up to the tune of $55,900 when I ordered it so that's what Nevada is basing it on. How bad are you getting soaked?

the real kicker is when you have multiple vehicles... including toys that just sit, but still cost a fortune for registration.

you mean excise tax? we get nailed pretty hard here in Maine, mill rate multiplied by MSRP in thousands, ex first year town mill rate, 24/1000 x52 for msrp of 52k or 1248$, 2nd yr 17.5/1000 or 910 etc etc

sucks having to pay for the privelage of owning a newer car. at yr 6 and there after it is 4/1000 so 208$. on plus 38$ for the processing on top. Neighbor had a Porsche 911, his first year donation excise was 2640$ +38 plus 5.5% sales tax, so another 5800 Sales tax to register and 50$ for the Title.

Mine is $528 for a ’19 JLR in California. You are getting a deal. My RV is $548 and my wife’s car $220 and my DD'r VW Golf is 2 something.

Similar, the state charges a tax based on a percentage of the vehicles value every year to register it, plus other fees of course.

I have not been able to register my JLR that I picked up on March 13 because DMV is shutdown in NY, so I'm driving around with an expired temp tag from CT. I am not complaining because I owe the sales tax of $2300 when I plate the Jeep as well as registration fees. Annual fees should be about $125 for a two year registration.
