Good luck convincing New York DOT your Boxy Wrangler is a "hybrid"In NYC and some states, you are allowed to drive a hybrid vehicle in an HOV lane. Can you see where I am going with this?

Same here with some HOV lanes in BC(Canada), however yesterday I notice that you have to display a “electric car” looking decal on your car to be eligible, don’t think I will convince anyone that my wrangler is a “hybrid”In NYC and some states, you are allowed to drive a hybrid vehicle in an HOV lane. Can you see where I am going with this?

No. You need a sticker from the city/state and they have a list of qualifying vehicles they update regularly. I can assure you a 18-19 “hybrid” Wrangler is not on any such list.
