HotShots Secrets Diesel Extreme

I am using HotShots Secrets EDT with every fill up of my 22 EcoDiesel. I was curious if anybody also uses HotShots Secrets Diesel Extreme and if so, when?

I use both. The Extreme is meant to be used every 6,000 miles. I also use Better Diesel to help reduce active regens.

I wish I could use better diesel but in PA we get crap. Concerning the extreme, how much do you add every 6K?

There are exactly two treatments in each bottle.

Just to be clear, "Better Diesel" is a brand name. As opposed to: I wish we got "better" diesel fuel at my local station in PA.

I use the EDT and I usually fill up at half a tank or 1/4 at a minimum. I do a 1/2 ounce when I fill up at a half tank.

What I was thinking, so if I grab some today and use for the first time just use 1 ounce for whole tank? Says 1 per 25 gallons but can use more?

That should be fine. You can use a little more than necessary, in fact I think it even says so on the bottle although I can't recall their wording right now.

Uhh I used slightly less (~7.5 oz) when I filled my 18 gallon tank today?? It’s my first time using.

I understood the bottle to say 8 ounces / 20 gallons?

I hope I didn’t screw up and have to drain it

2 products being talked about in this thread. It is confusing. You did the right amount of diesel extreme. 8/20. EDT is something else, Everyday diesel treatment.

Whew that’s a relief. Thanks for clearing that up.

Oddly enough right after filling up I noticed my iDash stopped reading my DPF soot load % wasn’t reading a value. I was around 72% before filling. It could be nothing but I just wanted to share

I don’t recall a diesel fuel treatment ever saying too much would harm your system. Having said that, I wouldn’t doubt one of the rescue fuel gel deals would, but the normal use stuff is pretty safe as far as the ratio goes.

Finally got some EDT in after I stood there for 3 or 4 mins trying to get my funnel in the fuel intake! I forgot it has the protection for getting the flap open. Then remembered the adapter we have in the back! Good for more than just getting large flow fuel pumps, works for small funnel also.

$24.99 though at O'Rielly, Autozone is $18.99 but they were out of EDT. 16 fill ups though so not terrible as long as it adds the lubrication we need.
