Hooke antenna mount?

Anyone have one of these? If so, how does it work? The photos make it look like it's kind of thin gauge metal so I'm worried about it bending. But, I like that the mount goes behind the spare tire. I don't like the Terraflex mout as it's visible on the tailgate hinges - it might work great but I don't like the looks. I was looking at that a few weeks ago and saw some reviews of it bending. That said it could be easily reinforced if you have access to a welder. The 14 bucks would be worth it to not have to cut and bend for me.
