Yeah but you have to disconnect the struts if you want to have real access to the engine and lay the hood on the windshield.
We have Quick Release end fittings on the fender end of the gas springs. It takes les than 10 seconds to disconnect and lay the hood back on the windshield:

With the quick release fittings that come with the Redline Tuning offering, I can very easily and quickly disconnect the hood lift struts ....and then lay the hood up on the window header.

About the quick release fittings..... well designed and very stout... easy to use/easy to disconnect.

Personally, I have the Redline Hood Lift offering (terrific offering) in order to lift the hood up for me and also to keep the hood more controlled when I lower the hood..

I also have the the offering to control/restrain the hood/limit the hoods range of motion.... to prevent costly hood damage....
(as in keeping the hood from flying out of control / flying up during heavy winds...... the stock prop rod does not do this well.)

Anyone that has experienced/used Redline Tuning's Hood Lift offering will tell you they truly like the offering... $ well spent for sure for a great addition to the JL/JT.

I should mention..... I had a JK's open hood drop on my forearm once.... when the wind lifted the hood a bit and the prop rod disco-d. No my arm was not broken, but that bad experience alone was one of the deciding factors in my buying the Redline Tuning hood lift offering for my JK and my JL.

@Redline Tuning ... Thanks for being a Forum Sponsor..... thanks for your terrific hood lift offerings.

I've only had to pull the hood back on two vehicles twice in my lifetime, most times the hood struts are well appreciated and easy enough to pop the disconnects. It's okay to have amenities, not everything has to suck for the sake of what-if's. :fist bump:

When I was shopping for my LJ there was one that I was very interested in but at one point the wind had blown the hood off the prop rod and onto the windshield leaving a crease across the hood. I passed.
