Hood Lift Struts

I’m constantly under the bonnet in my Wrangler doing something or fiddling with this or that, so hood lift struts are a welcome edition! If anybody is interested in the installation check out my video!



These are super inexpensive (free for me as the Amazon seller sent them to me to make an install video) and so far are working fine. I assume other brands install the same way.

seems like the Redline Tuning Hood Struts are a lot easier to install. For those, there is no need to remove the hood liner.

When Redline says it takes 5 minutes. It really does. As long as you don't let your kid steal the wrench. Takes a little bit longer

Or if you don't drop a screw into the engine compartment, which I did. Other than that, 5 minutes sounds good.

I would not install those hood lift struts if you gave them to me for free...

My vote is for Redline Turning Hood Lift Struts......

Nice video. I would give them a shot, basically the same thing, just a bit different install. Only thing I would do different is not remove the insulation and add some loctite the ball bolts.

Does the hood fold all the way back to the windshield? That's what i used to do on my YJ

It doesn't when the hood struts are engaged. There is a tab you can push down to disengage them so you can fold the windshield back.
