I got an email solicitation recently from a MOPAR vendor making this claim for the JL, of course with the end goal of selling me a Hood Deflector.
Something tells me this hasn't exactly been studied in some wind tunnel with highly controlled size debris, fired at different speeds and angles of attack, but rather is an anecdotal claim at best, assuming that such correlation even exists.
What say you? Are Hood Deflectors not much more than protection for the (front of the) hood if that, or have some of you in the 3+ windshield replacement club (a club for which, regrettably, membership attaches to me) found there to be correlation between this product's installation and better windshield outcomes?
My second windshield cracked sitting in my driveway....not much I suspect a hood deflector would have done to prevent that.
Thanks.
