Hitch wiring problem

So, my wife and I installed the Mopar hitch wiring harness. Encountered one problem that we can't figure out.

When we went to install the red wire from the fuse box into the wire harness that goes to the control module, the spot the red wire is supposed to go into already had a red wire in it. Watched the CJ Pony parts video and the red wire is definitely supposed to go into the top left opening, except there's already one there...

I included a picture of my wire harness and the red wire I ran from the fuse box. you can clearly see the red wire already installed and the red wire from the fuse box next to it. Also included a pic of the Mopar instructions showing were the red wire is supposed to go.

any ideas?

So, figured it out. My harness, for some reason, is different and had a jumper taped to the harness which ran to the plug. Didn't realize I had an extra plug with no wires in the kit till this morning while cleaning up.

My red wire from fuse box plugs into the empty plug then that plugs into the jumper.

Great you got-er figured out! Now, move on to the next JL related project... 8-)

Good to read you got your Wife involved in the install. My gal pal often assists me and it really makes things more enjoyable... less of a project. Especially, helpful at times is that second, smaller set of hands.

Oh, I've got a long list of Jeep projects!

It would have been difficult without my wife helping for sure. I don't fit too well under the dash.....

She was a good sport. She hates the cold and braved it for me!
