I just ran into the same problem. Canā€™t modify the hitch receiver so the mount for the DEF tank mount will have to be the change. Did yā€™all find a factory bracket solution? I quickly scanned the mopar site but didnā€™t see anything. I donā€™t have time to wait as I have to pull a trailer tomorrow and didnā€™t foresee this issue. I ended up cutting the bracket that holds the DEF tank skid plate and sliding the hitch receiver behind it. It required removing the two(2) bolts holding the tank on the bumper and loosening the back bumper. My grinding didnā€™t end up perfectly straight but it worked and wonā€™t ever be seen.

If I was going to tow something with the Diesel and didn't have the stock hitch, I would still buy the Mopar hitch. It states," . Hitch Receivers help maximize your vehicle's capability. This Class 2 Hitch Receiver has a 3,500 lb. towing capacity with 350 lb. tongue weight capacity. It requires no trimming or cutting of the rear bumper or fascia when installing and is the same as the production hitch. The Jeep Hitch Cover is also included.. This product requires: 82215896, 82213563, 82213565, 82213548, 82213547, 82213706."

I would screw around with anything I would have to modify or force to fit. It is less than $200 for the hitch.

Not sure how many Diesels they built, but I am guessing it is less than 500. Until there is a bigger market I don't think you will find an after marker part. Just isn't worth the trouble to sell it to those that didn't install one when they bought it.

The mopar receiver works fine on my 2021 wrangler ED.
You just have to remove the 2 bolts holding the def tank which is where your plug gets installed anyways. That will get you the clearance you need.
You'll want a shallow socket or wrench for to get them tightened up.
My standard 2" hitch works and fits into the receiver as well.

Anyone having an issue getting the ground wire into the 7 pin connector on the back? Mine just will not go.

Thanks for the assist! I can confirm this worked perfectly for the $80 Tyger version as well. I just loosed the DEF skid plate bolts fully and that was enough without worrying about the 50# tank coming down. I'm wiring up the lights today, but only a 4-pin.

I like your price better! Lol. The harness was almost double the hitch price.

If you are using the oem wire harness, follow the directions for routing, NOT the videos. For whatever reason the harnesses are not the same as the gas engines. The taillight wiring is the same with the yellow wires.

I did have to reform the large ground wire plug to get it into the 7 way.

Any girls out there DIYing this, it's a 3 broken nail job. šŸ˜Š

If a 40 yr old girl can figure it out, anyone can!

Seeya on the road.
