Why is the High Altitude package so expensive? I've seen it, and know it exists, but what makes it so expensive?

"Good" is subjective. It's fully loaded with every option and 20" wheels. Some may love that and be willing to pay for it.

From my optic, I really like mine. It comes with "almost" everything the rubicon comes with. I dont mind the painted bumpers either.

High Altitude is the ultimate luxury trim
Rubicon is the ultimate offroad trim
Sahara/Sahara Altitude is the good luxury trim
Willys is the cheaper offroad trim
Sport is the base trim

The High Altitude has many options already included such as LED lights, Safety systems, NAPA leather seats that are amazing, wheels that really set it apart, sport suspension system and many others, its amazing and I really enjoy mine!!

With a name like High Altitude you think it was designed for mountain top off-roading.

Maybe they should have called it High Attitude.

Look up what’s included in the package.

Among what I recall, it starts with a Sahara and adds:

• Wider D44 axles front and rear —a strong selling point on its own!
• 20-inch wheels with low-profile road tires —NOT a selling point for me
• Standard leather interior with unique bronze stitching and quilting. Includes matching leather covered dashboard and a fold down rear armrest
• Standard color-matched hardtop
• Standard painted bumpers —this isn’t a selling point for me either
• Unique color-matched fenders —they are slightly different from regular Sahara’s
• Unique color-matched side mirrors with built-in turn signal markers —this is the only Wrangler model that comes with these
• It may include standard LEDs front and rear

There might be other stuff; these are the features I can remember off the top of my head.

If you want a fully-loaded Sahara, this might be a better overall value than optioning out a regular Sahara. Having said that, the limitations of the High Altitude package are fewer colors outside and inside, those 20-inch wheels with low profile road tires, and the painted bumpers.

Definitely a better value than a higher option Sahara, I love that mini-G wagon look, especially in white. If I was OK with the engine options I would have ordered one.

I’m sure I’ll get roasted for this but…you could get a high altitude, get rid of the 20’s, throw on some extreme recon wheels and tires, and drive it. Later on I’ll add some rubicon take off suspension and enjoy it on the backroads of the land between the lakes and someday drive it down to the Smokey mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina. That’s my plan anyways. Jeep on. Lol

I’m sure I’ll get roasted for this but…you could get a high altitude, get rid of the 20’s, throw on some extreme recon wheels and tires, and drive it. I agree. I like the High Altitude package for no other reason that it comes with a lot of the stuff I want, including the wider front and rear D44s. Swapping out wheels and tires is no big deal.

And I have seen them heavily discounted. Apparently a customer orders one, the deal falls through for whatever reason, and it then sits on the lot for a long time.

That’s how I found my high altitude. I went in for an oil change, walked the lot and saw it, test drove it, next thing I know they offered me a lot more for my jeep than I thought they would and sealed the deal.

Think they have Auto 4 wheel drive, and trailer towing too. Bigger brakes in the rear.
LED lights?
Looked hard for one, then found the Rubi optioned the way we wanted.
