Really no places in eastern mass legally. You could look up class 6 roads in NH and class 4 roads in VT those are legal unmaintained roads

Also look to joining a club that is a member of the NEA4WD they will have access to many private properties and people to go with.

Thanks. Grew up in a metro west MA and all the old fire roads have long since been gated and sealed up.

Appreciate the advice on what to look for.
