Hey there!
I'm upgrading to new 35s for my JLUR

Help me decide!
I do go off roading 3-4 x year but not rock crawling. Also I'm in the Northeast with the winter weather.

1) 35x12.5x17 or 315x70x17?
What's the difference?

2) BFG KO2s or Goodyear Wranglers Duratrac?

Thank you in advance!

This is a basic comparison of the tire sizes you mentioned. The main difference being that the 35x12.5 runs a little truer to 35" than the 315/70. I would check each tire manufacturer's website for exact sizes. Another thing that could be different is the load rating of the tires. The load rating will greatly change the ride quality and stiffness. If you are looking for a similar ride to stock than a 315/70 with a load rating of C would be nice. Both of the tires you have mentioned are great in the snow and off-road for the use you are describing. Mainly it comes down to look, weight, and price. If you can get a good deal on the Duratracs and not the KO2s then its an easier choice. Shop around and see which one looks better and is priced better but in terms of performance they are very similar

I just made the choice between these two tires. Went with the K02 due to the lower noise and price.

The 35 will probably look more aggressive but I didn't want to have to fight to look for a shop that would mount them on the factory wheels. I got the 315 C's from discount tire.

@WalkingJL

Any chance that you could post a pic of the rear of your JL with the 315/70 r17 Bfg Ko2 on the stock tire carrier.

Wanting to see clearance between spare and bumper.

Thanks!

I got the K02's. You Rubicon guys I believe can fit it on your spare tire holder. Mine won't close the rear door as it scrubs on the bumper too much so I have a relocation bracket coming. I am waiting for the AEV bumpers to start selling and I plan on replacing my factory bumper for theirs. For now I'll put a tire relocation bracket on. I have Rubicon painted flares and Rubicon suspension. Will post a pic later.

Sure did. I think it rides better on these than the stock Rubicon K02's

My use is similar to yours. I've run both and put 315 Duratrac in D on my stock JLUR wheels no lift. Tire weight matters. Mild wheeling without rub. The Warn Zeon 8000 steel cable dropped my front about 3/4" so considering a front spacer.
