I looked at the bolts on my 2 door. The drivers side looked ok to get to. The passenger side looked a lot more fun, er difficult. Your suggestion to look at the JT instructions made it clear to see that step. What's up with the drive shaft and battery skid hitting. I wonder if the 2 door will have that issue? Also a diesel jeep had to trim the Metalcloak skid because it hit his front Next Venture Motorsports diff skid, which I have. Do you see an issue with this on your 3.6L I know lots of questions. Thanks for your time...

I went with the 3.5" lift for my JLUR so I purchased an aftermarket front driveshaft from Adam's. I went with them because they make the 1350 variant which is stronger. No problem in the front with the aftermarket driveshaft.

The rear hits the plate on where the driveshaft meets up with the output shaft from the axle. The problem is that the aftermarket driveshaft joint is the same circumference in this location so switching shafts will not help.

Looks like Metalcloak needs to remake that skid to clear the drive shaft. Wonder if trimming the skid would weaken it to much. That's for the write up, great pictures.

They were in constant communication with me at first and then said their engineers were looking at it. Questioned me several times on whether the axle was centered or not so I sent them measurements to validate it was. I have not hear back from them in a month, even after asking for an update.

I moved it over 1/2 to try to help. As you can see from my flex pic, one wheel is only about 15" off the ground and it rubs. I think the corner needs to be cut off and left flat like the gas tank skid.

Anyone have interference with the front drive shaft? Stock ‘21 JLUR and when the front end compresses the front drive shaft contacts the driver side engine skid bracket. It is hitting the bolts on the drive shaft and I’m hopping with some wiggling or grinding it won’t be an issue.

I have the same setup but for the diesel version, is that what you get when you compress the drivers side?

Well I did the same thing on mind with the diesel skids. It comes close, but there is plenty of room even with my axle skids.

Yes, but the skid plates are different for the diesel version...

The 2dr is what I have and their "engineers" are looking into the problem with the transmission skid plate not fitting with the 48 volt OEM bracket.

They just now sent me the engine mount bolts to install the engine skid plate. These bolts were not in the instructions and were not originally sent. The part numbers they sent me for the front gussets that hold up the front of the engine skid plate are different than in the instructions.
They sent me

Bummer for you to go through this. I'll be waiting to see how this turns out. I wonder if Jeep change things up with the 48v battery or Metalcloak just dropped the ball.

Metal Cloak sent me the Longer Bolts so now the front engine/motor skid plate arms have been installed. The OEM engine mount bolts needed to be removed and these longer ones put in their place.

HOWEVER.. I am still waiting to hear back from the engineers on what they are going to do about the 48 volt battery cable support.

The part I had to remove to fit the Metal Cloak skid plate was mopar part 68292475AB aka 48V Wiring to RT Skid Plate.

Keep me updated on that. Did you try flexing it yet to see if the rear driveshaft hits the battery skid? Mine hit with 15" under the tire

Thread drift.....did you also use a MC lift on your Diesel? If so, did you use stock king shocks or get them tuned?

No, my lift was a EVO with tuned King shocks for the diesel. Ride is great, but I changed out the coil springs to Rock Crawler as the EVO springs started sagging after all the mods.

I had to modify my front belly pan to allow flex on the front axle as you can see in this pic.

Now my front axle skid will clear at full flex.
