Hey guys, so lately my brake pedal on my 18 Wrangler Sport has been squeaking, not crazy bad but enough to be a little annoying. So I was already going into the dealer today to get an oil change and asked if they could give it a look. They said the issue is the grommet that goes to my brake booster, and that you can't buy just the grommet, you have to buy a whole new brake booster for $350+, I'm not very familiar with that stuff tbh, but it seemed sketchy, especially when I found a grommet from Mopar for 3 bucks in about 5 minutes, granted it could be the wrong part. Thanks for the help!!

Crawl up under there. Look at the brake pedal. You'll see a rod connected to the brake pedal that goes through a rubber boot going through the firewall. That rod going through the boot is normally what causes the squeak. You could spit on it but it's kind of a funny angle. So I always use white lithium grease.

I have the squeak too, it seems intermittent. It is VERY difficult to access that area unless you’re extremely tiny or a contortionist or both. I discovered that there’s some grease on the shaft near the boot and I tried to spread some on shaft where it goes through the firewall. No joy. The lithium grease spray sounds like a good idea. It may possibly be a bit easier if you remove the trim panel underneath the steering wheel but I don’t know that for sure.

Thank you I will try this weekend if i can access there.

For the white lithium grease, any recommended product?
I found this from amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/WD-40-Specialist-White-Lithium-Grease/dp/B00L35DAWQ/ref=sr_1_4?crid=RQLGATDYMSGP&keywords=white+lithium+grease&qid=1663176397&sprefix=white+lithium+grease,aps,56&sr=8-4
Any auto parts store should have it. Walmart should have it. That WD40 stuff is great.I use the little tube that looks like tooth paste. Just don't get them confused.

I personally prefer food-grade spray silicone where rubber might be touched, or a solid white grease if the location in question allows a proper dab. An aerosol grease is the next best thing. Just be sure to not use a solvent that is easily confused as a lubricant.

Late Updates,
I used the white lithium grease and no more noise for 2 weeks so far.
Thank you.
