I’ve been running 37” Nitto Trail Grapplers and loved them. Got some new wheels and wondering what a logical “upgrade” would be.

Looking to stay with 37” (maybe 38)

This is for 2018 JLUR - 3.5” lift. Not a DD- basically just a trail rig at this point.

looked at the Nitto M/T but those are 13.5. Will they “fit” on a 12.5” wheel? Running 37x12.5x17 trailready beadlocks

recommendation?

You need to do a little bit of self education before you move forward. The 37x12.5x17 is the size of the tire, not the wheel. TrailReady doesn’t make a 12.5” wide wheel, it’s 8.5” wide. And a 13.5” tire will work just fine on a 8.5” wide wheel.

LOL - had a few drinks today! I’m aware of the difference between tire and wheel sizes 🙏🏼 😅

at any rate I’m curious if folks have opinions about good alternatives to the Nitto trail grappler.

I am a big fan of the Cooper STT PRO tires. I have them in 37x12.5r17. I currently have 41,000+ miles on them and have wheeled them all over the US in every type of terrain. I think I will get about 50 to 55,000 miles on the tire before I put the next set on. They are reasonably quiet for a M/T tire wear even and stand up great to off road punishment. I run them at 26 to 28 psi and bump the rear up to 30 when I pull the camper. I air them down to 6 to 8 psi when off road. I have had zero flats.

Picture of tires with 41,000+ miles. There is plenty of life left in them.

x2 on the STT Pro....I have 37x13.50xr17 and love them. I just really wish they made a 38 for 17" wheels 😕
