The engine choice has very little to do with towing capacity. A rigid frame and suspension are the main characteristics that determine hauling and towing capacity. You can make all the fake points you want and you still can’t get a diesel or 2.0 in the max tow package Gladiator their most heavy duty vehicle in the JL/JT line. It out tows the 392! X2 lol
Wow! That's impressive! I recently did a 900+ mile trip in my JLUW-XR 2.0, 4 people, and averaged about 19.5 but was doing 75/80 on I95.If price wasn't an issue, I would get the 392. Otherwise I lean towards the 3.6. I really liked the idea of the 3.0, but wasn't keen on all the added emissions stuff.
My 3.6 JLUR-XR Did a 800+ mile road trip just last week, with the jeep loaded with gear, 4 people, and surfboards on the roof. I averaged 19.7mpgs. That includes a fair bit of driving in sand.
I see 20-22mpgs often on the highway, but once you start going over 75mph the mpgs drops off quite quick.
