From my last road trip was washing the Jeep and noticed these very small white dots all over the rear driver side around the panel and on the tail lights. Tried to scrub and remove but didn’t really come off. No clue what it is. Any ideas of what to use to remove that wouldn’t damage paint? Yes, it’s small but I know it’s there and it’s driving me nuts :headbang:

hard to get a pic showing it on the actual paint but you can really see it on the tail light

Were you driving on the beach? In Austin?

Have you ever used a clay bar? Might try that if normal washing doesn't work.

Is your 2019 still on order?

No—I was driving from Tx back to Phoenix. So somewhere in Between. I haven’t used a clay bar. Wasn’t even aware that was something that may work. I’ll look into it!
And nope—got my 2020 in Dec and I don’t think it’s stopped moving since! Already have 25k on it :surprised:

Oh, was going by your profile vehicle.

Any auto shop like Autozone will have them.

Looks like overspray from something. Do you use spray wax or anything like that after you wash your Jeep? I would also start with a clay bar. Basically zero risk and usually does the trick.

Nope. It was there when I went to wash it. Wasn’t there before the drive. And was there when I got home. I’ll definitely add the clay bar. Thanks!

Weird. Definitely let us know if the clay bar works. Best of luck!

Were any of the roads you travelled newly paved and painted? Or did you go under bridges that were being worked-on/painted?

That is a possibility. If I remember right one section in NM was being worked on. But it was only one lane and we were driving in the other. That’s the only thing I can think of...is if some paint splatter? But I don’t recall them painting. Who knows.

If it is dust from road milling then you might try wiping a small section with some white vinegar. The acid in the vinegar will dissolve the minerals but not harm the paint or plastic.

Dilute it if you try this... Usually they recommend a 50/50 mix when using for hard water spots. Concerned on how pure vinegar would react on FCA plastic...
