I like the Mickey Thompson BB AT a lot, even though I'm contemplating a different tire. But it's mostly because I'm thinking of 38s.

These have a lot of siping which should work well on the wet pavement. They have survived many trails of sharp rocks. K02s don't get my vote, especially C rated BFGs. I've put many holes in them many years ago. No more.

I've been running Cooper ATs on my 3500 for several years and have had no issues. Good traction for an AT in mud, quiet, and last. Because of that, I also run them on my JLURD. E rated, because I like the sidewall protection.

I'm pretty sure they're not 3-peak rated. I'd think that'd be a big concern for those living in CO.
I would 100% get a used set of facebook 33" or 35" KO2s for winter on my stock wheels.

ive had bfg at's, bbat's, toyo at3's, and patagonia mt's.

if you dont plan to offroad, the at3's are a fantastic road tire. (current tire on my Ram)
bfg at's are ok, fling a lot of stones, good in snow.
bbat's are decent, id run them again.
i really like my patagonias on my jeep...

Maybe that'll work for you, but there's a lot of winter wheeling that goes on out there. Relatively simple trails like Yankee Hill become an absolute blast with about two feet of fresh powder.

Not like I wont wheel on the winter tires too lol. But Im also not sure how much snow wheeling I want to get into in general. Recovery fests arent my jam

Yeah, watching people slam into drifts trying to break through followed by having to recover them isn't a fun day in the mountains for me. I pretty much go into maintenance and upgrade mode once the snow gets serious.

For the OP, I'm running the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT. It's a good all-around tire. The extra weight is nearly impossible to notice. A buddy has BFG KO2s. They are measurably smaller (both 37s) but still a decent tire. The KO3 is supposed to be much better

There is apparently a letter or other code on the sidewall of the tire that tells where it was manufactured. Again, this is just what he told me. And yes, I knew that Toyo and Nitto were the same company.

I had wild peak at3w on my Tacoma. Good tire for the cost 20k miles. Bad tire to 40k. Load, poor handling in the rain, cupped BAD at 30k. Became borderline undriveable on the highway after 40k. I totaled the truck at about 42k about a week before buying new tires. Only truck / tire combo that got me stuck in snow. They were 3 peak rated.... so there is that. Soft tire too. One tire had three plugs in it in 40k miles.

Zr2 came with duratrac at. That was a great tire for mainly highway and light off roading. Never flinched in rain, snow, or running 80 mph on the highway. I got 82k miles out of those and still had a little tread!!! I have them to a buddy that used them on his hunting truck for another year after that. Highly recommend for light offlroading. Was going to put those right back on. Wanted something a bit more aggressive.

Been running open country rt trail on the zr2 for the last 16k miles. Favorite tire so far. Rides great, low noise, stable on everything for a daily driver. Plenty of grip offroad. Looks sharp too. Only tire i haven't had to put a plug in so far. Definitely recommend.

Jeep has original ko mts. Louder and less stable on the highway than either the duratrac at or the rt trails. Not impressed at 2k miles. Haven't been offroad in them yet. They will be coming of this fall when I get the lift. Aforementioned rt trails will go on her too.

I would not buy ko2s. I mean why? Ten years old. They are like the guy in town that used to be a great baller in high school. Now he is bagging groceries at Food Lion. Still good. Time has passed them by and better options are out there.

I have had great luck with BFG KO2s and Falken Wildpeak A/Ts for daily driving and weekend warrior Jeeping.

Stay in the middle of the pack. Bring some certified sawyers with chainsaws. Let the guys with tons and 40s or bigger break trail. When they get stuck…time to turn around. I’m a newbie so I love the snow. That could change over time I guess.
