2021 JLUSD is the vehicle in question.

So I was installing a 12 volt socket (for a fricking xmas wreath) on my factory aux switch, nice clean install, or so I thought. Get it all done, go to fire it up and nothing. The Aux switch in the cab itself lights up, but the wired in 12 volt socket is dead, and when I went back into settings to check on things, I can't even see an option for the Aux switches in the setting options!?!?!?! They were there before I started as I checked just to see how they could be set up.

I did search on the forums and saw that this can happen and to just wait and it will come back, but then I took it for a drive and noticed that my heat settings only have Hi/Lo, not the degrees it normally had?!?!?! I am thinking that I may have, i don't know, shorted something out, that would surprise me, even though I did not disconnect the battery, I had the jeep off and had not even programed the Aux switch, I figured it would have been fine to work on. But it seems I may have been misguided and both issues may be related. Appreciate any input, from what I have been seeing it looks like wait till tomorrow and see if it all magically comes back, however, that is not in my nature unfortunately, but if I get that input here, I will do my best not to mess with things!!!

Did you check the fuse in the power distribution center that protects that particular Aux switch?

Also, check the ground on that add on you installed..

IF you want to reboot UCONNECT and maybe have it immediately see the Aux switches again.... DO... while the JL is running, pull fuse F97 in the PDC for say 15 sec. and then plug it back in. This reboots UConnect..

Aux switches can be (re)activated through a Tazer if you have one.

I was just on a week long road trip and lost both of my front speakers. So I pulled over to the side of the road and popped my speakers out to check the connections; all good. Next I pulled the radio out, pulled the main harness waited a few seconds and popped it back in. Hoping it was all just a lose connection… no luck. I did manage to reset the uConnect system in doing this though. It defaulted to a theme I hadn’t seen before, lost my XM radio and my HVAC controls did the high/low thing without showing temps. Oh well, she’s gotta go to the dealer anyway to fix these stupid speakers.

I pull over for gas about an hour later, and when I turn the Jeep back on, the satellite radio is back and the climate control seems to be behaving again. Still no luck with the speakers.

All this to say, it may fix itself after a power cycle or two.

I had the same issue. My aux switches and back up camera app disappeared. I pulled my fuses and it did not fix the problem. But a reset of the Uconnect brought them back immediately.

Ok i just went out an checked and everything on uconnect is back, the aux switches are there and the temp now has readouts. So strange, I have not checked the newly installed 12 volt switch yet as it is like 2 degrees out there and I am DONE for the day, I will check it first thing in the AM. Thanks all!!!

You pulled "fuses" ? Had you pulled F97 UConnect reboots/resets.

@Riperoo

Remember Fuse 97 that I mentioned earlier..... Almost anytime you have say Off Road Pages, .... stuff listed... other stuff displayed in UConnect, go missing like you did, do a Fuse 97 pull.... ....either that or wait for the JL to go through a few on/off cycles and UConnect then correcting things lets say...

Yellow arrow points to F97..

Hey, thanks Rhinebeck01, its all back now, see previous post, I have not checked the 12 volt plug yet, is there anything I need to do in the fuse block to activate this? I didn't see any mention of anything in the manual other than hook up the wire and pick your options for the how the aux switch operates. I did wonder if I needed to add a fuse in or something, have you done this? Is the fuse spot empty? I will check in the AM.

Well, there is fuse protection on Aux 1, 2, 3, and 4.... (fuses are there, in place)
........there is also fuse protection on the ignition switched wire and the direct to battery wire that is only found in the Aux bundle that resides in the passenger footwell..

Aux 1 and 2 are fused at 15 amp each.. Aux 3 and 4 at 40 amp each.

Remember your add on cannot draw more amp then the fuse protection offers..

So with your add on.... The power wire goes to the Aux wire you wish to use.. The ground wire on that add on needs to go to a good ground point.. do not use the Main battery negative!

That's it... then just push the associated Aux button. You can look in UConnect for Aux switch settings.... that can be set-up as you desire...

I don't disconnect 12v to the JL when doing this type of deed. I am careful though. I also, close all doors and tail gate .... let them remain closed for say 5 min and then after UConnect is asleep do the deed... I do not open doors on the JL til all is done... I do this just to keep UConnect out of the mix so to speak..

Here is a ground point that is easy to get to ... not painted... easy to deal with..

In case you blew the fuse associated with that Aux switch you used....

also ... For those that read through this thread .....

With Factory installed Aux switches, here is the fuse list in regard to Aux .... Aux 1, 2, 3, 4, and also the Direct to Battery and Ignition Switched, wires which are only found in the passenger foot well, Aux bundle.

These fuses are found in the power distribution center (PDC) next to the Main battery.

F50 HD ACC — If Equipped 10 Amp Red Micro < Ignition switched wire in pass foot well

F72 HD ELEC ACC PKG — If Equipped 10 Amp Red Micro < Direct to battery in pass foot well

F92 HD ACCY #2 — If Equipped 40 Amp Green Cartridge < Aux 2

F93 HD ACCY #1 — If Equipped 40 Amp Green Cartridge < Aux 1

F103 HD ACCY #3 — If Equipped 15 Amp Blue Micro <Aux 3

F108 HD ACCY #4 — If Equipped 15 Amp Blue Micro <Aux 4

FYI, just leave it be and all should be well in about 24 hours. Same issue when I tried a test fit of a replacement HU. Hi-Lo only and no XM, or off road pages. Everything reset within 24 hours. No fuse pulling needed.
