Reality is your jeep could still be D1 or beyond, they don’t know, the tracking on Chrysler’s end sucks.... mine went from D1 to suddenly being dropped off at my dealer by surprise to everyone, and I’m not the only one that has had that happen..... my advice, stop focusing on the production schedule and look at accessories etc because you are just going to get frustrated at something that is supposed to be fun...sure Chrysler could do a better job, maybe they’ll improve it in the future, but for now there is no use in talking to all of these different sources of info for production updates, I did the same.... none of them were correct.
Agreed! I’m excited to track the build, if they release accurate updates, but am turning my focus to prep! Get the garage ready, get my wish lists started, maybe stock pile a few things for the first play date. Focus on the fun!!! :handsinair:

I'm just wishing they would unsuck it. This is my third factory order in advance of a new model in 11 years and I've never had these issues before. The two others were Corvettes and they each had production startup dates set months in advance and those dates were met on the exact day. When the order books were open, production was set and there were strict allocations to ensure that massive backlogs didn't develop. Four weeks in advance of the actual builds, I had build weeks assigned, and again, those targets were hit exactly.

Contrast this with FCA. I don't see any allocation restrictions. Further, the order books for the 2drs were opened at least four months before we'll see the first model roll off the line. Almost all of those delayed builds have a status of "D - Firm Schedule" when the timing is anything but firm and no date is provided. The result will be a backlog that will likely take months to dissipate once production starts along with a further buildup of customer frustration.

Communication with FCA and dealers is the biggest issue, and again, I've never experienced this level of breakdown. Misinformation from those sources is resulting in real financial consequences for customers for lease bridging and credit costs.

My 2015 Mustang convertible was two days from being sent by rail car when it and 4,000 others were pulled and stored. It didn't get shipped for six weeks. Ford refused to give out any info.
Had that with my 2016 Z06 that sat in the rail yard for 6 weeks. Didn't like it, but GM was at least honest with the reason. My destination city of Winnipeg is a relatively small centre that doesn't order a lot of Corvettes. The shipper waited the maximum number weeks their contract allowed to get the most vehicles in a rail car.

Here's a bit of coincidental trivia. Corvettes destined for Canada ship by truck for transload to the same rail yard in Toledo that services the Wrangler plant. I think FCA has their own dedicated loadout, but it's the same yard. I kept pinging the GPS in my Vette while awaiting transport and it always showed its location right beside the Wrangler factory. So both vehicles that will share a common home will have shared a common starting point.

Mine is coming from the front, right where the hard top meets the windshield. I'm not sure it is abnormal, though. I have to drive it back to back with my JK. I'll then decide if it is enough to send a PM to you. I'm hearing that some have tightened a couple bolts and reduced the noise. I think I've only experienced it in crosswinds or gusts, and I don't think there is much to be done about that.
Thanks for expanding on that, DanW. Keep us updated on this situation as we'd be glad to further document this on your behalf.

Hi Kenc,

Please send us a direct message expanding on where the noise is coming from. I tried to look for the thread with other members experiencing this and couldn't find it. If you get a chance, would you mind directing them into a direct message to provide more information?

Thanks,

I have an appointment tomorrow at Ferman Jeep so they can look at it. Noise is coming from the top of the windshield. Sounds like the defroster is on high at 45 mph.

Jeepcares, Any update on the issues people are having with their springs? I have the mopar 2" and don't have bowing but I am pretty concerned if this is a manufacturing problem that I will have to deal with soon

Hello Jasmin and Julie,

Will you please update us all on the status of 2-door production timelines...there are so many threads on this forum, so many different rumors being floated, so many reports of FCA online chat and phone support of different dates and information. I am not restating the different dates that we have all heard, and am asking other forum members to please DO NOT reply to this question- I don't want the waters muddied here. So, PLEASE...JEEP CARES....update date us on productions timelines/dates And PLEASE...be specific (eg. soft top vs hard top, Rubi vs Sahara vs Sport, any options that will delay production, etc.) For the most part, we are all patiently waiting but I think we deserve a realistic explanation of when we can expect our vehicles to be built.

Thanks in Advance.

My order date was 02/01/2018. VON #41003276. VIN#1C4HJXFG3JW170459. Previously, my build was D1 status week of February 12-16. On Friday 02/23, Jeep Chat informed me my build status was C. How can my build status go in reverse direction? Would you be kind enough to check on my build status n PM me please? Thanks in advance.

Well aware-but completely irrelevant at this point since the messaging coming from other forum members communicating with the online chat and phone customer service is now consistently quoting April for production launch.

You're saying that what they said 3 days ago is completely irrelevant?

I just want to re-post this on this thread

jl-wrangler-timeline-by-jlwranglerforums-small-jpg-jpg.webp

I'm not sure why there are so many people bent out of shape over their 2 door not being produced yet because they ordered several months ago when back in September this timeline was put together showing production wasn't even planned until February. It also shows that the soft top isn't available for the 2 door until March.
Well, looks more like April to begin making the 2 door

Yep, I went back to "C" status as well.
A little help for us in the cheap seats
