Knowledge is a wonderful thing. With FCA keeping a lot of people in the dark, concerning 2 door production, for no apparent reason; doesn’t bode well for their overall respectability.

Hi Gandersonsays,
We can confirm that the 2 Door model will not launch until the beginning of March. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to send us a PM so it does not get lost on this thread.

Hey @JeepCares! Thanks for chiming in here. Does a 2-door launch mean the start of production at the factory or will some early production models be hitting dealerships? Thanks!!!

My take on this excessive delay of the 2 door, with no explanation, has to do directly with upper management in FCA. Upper management I’m referring to is anybody up the corporate ladder above JeepCares.

There’s no reason, that WE can see and and don’t understand, why they can’t tell us why this delay is happening. We’ve already read of vendor’s inability to reach component production quotas. Short on LED’s, manual trannies and hardtops are just some of the shortcomings.

This entire forum is counterproductive concerning production in that JeepCares says; we don’t know, then they say the beginning of March. There are other threads where supposedly official FCA dealers and Reps have stated the middle to the end of March. Most people would understand this is not the best way to accurately inform the brand’s loyal patronage.

So yes there are a lot of people, including myself, that are beginning to get a little bit more than upset with this delay. This just leads me back to my original paragraph; obviously FCA knows there is a problem. As passingnotes states above and I wholeheartedly agree, why can’t FCA management be a lot more transparent and inform JeepCares? There would be a hell of a lot less upset people.

While we're at it, can we find out why the hell Chick-fil-A's drive thru is always so busy???? Why don't they just build more? Obviously the demand side is pushing on the supply side! Why do they toy with us so? And why do I constantly go back and wait, even when the line is wrapped around the building 2 times?!?!?!? EVERY time I ask why, they REFUSE to answer my question directly. Gah, don't they know that my time is precious and that I demand a shorter wait time and more information!!!

There’s absolutely no doubt in anybody’s mind that supply can’t meet demand. This is not what this post is about. I’m sorry if you’re unable to comprehend my ENTIRE conversation.

We’re only asking for FCA to inform JeepCares with honest, up to date, transparent info on when the 2 door will be built.

I accept you apology but I think you missed my point. You, and I, are not entitled to transparent information on any of the interworkings of Jeep or FCA.

I just want to re-post this on this thread

Jeep Wrangler JL Hello From JeepCares jl-wrangler-timeline-by-jlwranglerforums-small-jpg-jpg

I'm not sure why there are so many people bent out of shape over their 2 door not being produced yet because they ordered several months ago when back in September this timeline was put together showing production wasn't even planned until February. It also shows that the soft top isn't available for the 2 door until March.

This could be very true. So would that suggest JeepCares and all FCA Reps, who have been giving us incorrect or vague info since the beginning of this rollout are being intentionally kept in the dark? Or maybe they can’t give out this info as well; which is probably the most plausible explanation.

Yes, I think both those scenarios are probably true.

I'm not bent out of shape, but I am disappointed and believe customers could be kept better informed. The timeline you posted showed 2dr production starting on Feb 12 which did not happen and no reason has been given. As of today, there's no clear start target.

Julie from Jeep Cares stated yesterday on this thread that production is targeted for early March and I appreciate that information. However, at the same time, a Jeep Cares supervisor has told a customer that production won't start before mid March and could be end of March. Surely Jeep can get its messaging straight. I'm not asking for a committed start date, just a uniformly communicated target that gets updated if circumstances warrant.

Personally, I was at D1 status on a 2dr hardtop as recently as 8 days ago with this being my build week and Saturday being my projected ship date. That means I was pretty much at the front of the line in production. However, this week, my status was downgraded to D and nobody can tell me why. I have no idea when it may go to D1 status again and whether I'll remain near the front of the line or am pushed further back. That's frustrating.

Reality is your jeep could still be D1 or beyond, they don’t know, the tracking on Chrysler’s end sucks.... mine went from D1 to suddenly being dropped off at my dealer by surprise to everyone, and I’m not the only one that has had that happen..... my advice, stop focusing on the production schedule and look at accessories etc because you are just going to get frustrated at something that is supposed to be fun...sure Chrysler could do a better job, maybe they’ll improve it in the future, but for now there is no use in talking to all of these different sources of info for production updates, I did the same.... none of them were correct.

My 2015 Mustang convertible was two days from being sent by rail car when it and 4,000 others were pulled and stored. It didn't get shipped for six weeks. Ford refused to give out any info. Turns out a piece of insulation had to be added to the firewall. All units that had already gone out or delivered were recalled back to dealership for a two day or more installation. Ford never acknowledged why...owners only found out from dealers who were busily fixing the design flaw.

Excellent perspective! How exciting is the anticipation rather than going to the dealership and plucking any ol' color and options off the lot?
