Dear fellow jeepers!

The dealer called and said they fixed the issue. It had only one out of the six bolts in the flywheel. He said that it appears to have no other damage that they can see. They would like me to take it for an extended test drive...a couple of days and see what I think. And they would work on a warranty extension or something, OR I can get the replacement and it would be at about a month before ordering is available and then another 80-100 days minimum from that point.

What do you think?
Yeesh. I'm a Jeep n00b, but I imagine getting the extended warranty plus maybe something else on the house would be in order.

Jeep Wrangler JL Hello From JeepCares upload_2018-8-22_13-31-29

So JeepCare, I have an open case for this issue I had that occurred on 14 August. It’s had an inspection by a third party hired by Chrysler. It’s been 7 business days and I haven’t received one single phone call from any FCA rep. I’ve called almost daily and requested my assigned case person to call me, but yet my phone remains quiet. I am slowly getting aggravated by the lack of communication on Jeeps part. I have no problem taking my money to another brand. Feel free to chime in you think you have a plausible reason why Jeep hasn’t contacted me.

How does that relate to what he typed at all? Are you just replying to messages without reading them now?
Hi Phynal,
I reached out to her because she stated in an earlier post that her Jeep needed more repairs once it arrived at the dealership. Therefore, I offered her my help while her Jeep was being serviced at the dealership. Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns.

FYI- Mopar offers a lifetime Maxcare warranty. I would suggest you get that free of charge. A flywheel not secured properly sounds like an easy situation for things to get torqued and not be readily discernible. I would also consider, that you will be hypersensitive to any sound/feel real (or not) you encounter. Plus if they forgot such a critical part and missed it, what else is missed and not identified yet?
If you feel hesitant/concerned about this, for a peace of mind I would reject that jeep and order a new one. The good news is you'll get a 2019 (with a few more drive train options available to pick from).
My two bits.
PS- we've put on over 800 miles on our JLR. It drives flawlessly, it does not make any noises, it does not leak, cruise control works great. I'm now getting 22+ mpg highway. BTW - we did purchase the lifetime warranty maxcare for peace of mind. After all, there are a lot of new things in/on the JL that need time to truly verify durability.

It’s getting pretty aggravating not receiving any contact from Jeep about this. I’ve called too many times, and shouldn’t have to if Jeep takes pride in its’ customer relations. Every time i call i get told my case is being elevated or the supervisor is being emailed and I should be contacted the next business day. I will not send a PM, as I have nothing to hide and all loyal Jeep consumers should be aware of the lack of communication on Jeep’s behalf. My case number is 34950866. All of my contact information is attached to the case number. I’d also like to add the customer relations person I talked to on Wednesday failed to annotate on my case that I contacted Jeep at 9:18 am and was transferred to the department supposedly working my case. Of course there was no answer, but I did leave a voicemail with my name, case number and phone number. So Lydia, how can you be of assistance?

How long does it take for Jeep Wave to be active after purchase? It brings me to a page to pay...

Wow!
He told you that if you hired an attorney your warranty is void? (Total bulshit)
Do they just hire stupid people over at FCA or what?
I have never witnessed such poor customer service as what I have read at this forum, I own a 2018 JK and it has sent more time at the dealership then my last 9 cars and I am being more than generous with that statement. Even the service manager has told me to get use to it,”It’s not a BMW, Toyota, Honda or Infiniti “. I have been thinking about buying a second Jeep but after reading about some of these stings be sent to dealerships half built, I am just not sure. Then I read guys saying that “its a jeep thing” “all new production year models have these problems” News flash! They don’t! I have bought cars that you had to wait years for, cars that some dealers thought they could tack on an extra 20k, NONE of them came with the problems I read on this forum.

I have not complained one time on here and I understand that “its a Jeep thing, hell I am looking at a second one, but Jesus can this company just try to get their act together?

Jeep Apple Music Offer Fail

I got an email advertisement today that says my new Wrangler Unlimited Apple Music Equipped Jeep comes with up to 6 months of free service. But when you click on the link to "redeem" your offer you get a message "no more codes available". It says I have 90 days to claim it.

The same thing happened with the AT&T Wireless trial that came with my Jeep. After a week it said it expired. It was supposed to be a 3 month trial.

Hi Jasmine and Julie. Want to alert you to the fact that hundreds complaints have been filed regarding the Steering of the 2018 Wrangler JL on the NHTSA. website. I just filed a complaint as well. The Wrangler JL I just leased is having some major steering issues. I've been a Wrangler owner and a Jeep owner for more than 10 years so the issue is not my inexperience with driving a Wrangler. There is a noticeable steering dead zone (play) when the steering wheel is at-or-near centered position. Furthermore, the vehicle does not seem to be able to drive in a straight line (the Jeep wanders quite markedly on paved roads without constant correction. ) Several times I went out of my lane. These two issues are present at all speeds but are especially noticeable at highway speeds. Both issues compound and make the vehicle unsafe to drive requiring frequent micro-corrections which are hard to get right because of the aforementioned dead zone. The car at higher speeds is totally unsafe to drive. I contacted the dealer and I have a good relationship with them. I've leased or purchased 7 Jeeps including Wranglers over the past 12 years. they are sending a flatbed for the Jeep. I hope they can put me in a different Wrangler. We have pretty strict lemon laws in New York State so I'm sure I will have this rectified in one way or another. jeep should really address this problem before the have a media and brand nightmare. I can not reccommend the 2018 Wrangler at this point and that's sad, I've been a loyal Jeep customer for around 20 years.
