Hey peops,

wanna say hello as new member.
My name is Tobias, 32 years old / young.
I always worked in a car shop- The first 5 years as salesman for Renault, the service team leader same company. After that, 4 years service team member @ Ford garage located in Treves, actually I work for a Jeep dealer as service team member since March 2020. Due to Covid-19, my start there was a little bumpy, but it's awesome.

In Octobre 2020 I purchased my first Jeep - a 2019 manufactured JL Rubicon 2.2 diesel in Granit Grey.
First registered in 08/2020.

Heated leather seats and steering wheels, technology pack and headliners are on board.

The changes I made at the moment are small, but worth it:
- changed 255/75R17 BFG MT KM2 to 255/75R17 BFG AT KO2 / mostly used as daily driver and car for hunting, the AT are the better choice- 255 tyres due to weight. Payload is poor on the 2 door - just 269kg.
- found a set of Gladiator JT Rubicon Fox Shocks on ebay -> front was super easy, rear afforded to create adapters -> but it worked and I love the performance of those shocks.
- 2" towing set
- Rugged Ridge inductive smartphone holder for dashboard
- began my cargo build for overlanding

In future I will put some Eibach springs +30mm on it, not to lift, just to compensate the weight of future changes, as there are plant:

- Warn Evo VS 12S winch behind EU Stock bumper ( due to weight -> function goes over optical performance )
- Gobi Stealth Rack
- explore glazing windows for the rear with airline cargo capacity
- some extra lights, maybe IR lights for hunting with nightvision on the field

Well, but let's see what the future will bring.

Greets,

Tobias

Well, I would, but unfortunately, there are no trails you are allowed to legal use. Just offroad parks and some offroad"trails" over the alps for example.

One trail exists. You can drive the old DDR-border, but you need a guided tour for permittment.

For offroading on trails we have to go abroad.

Danke. Woher kommst du ursprünglich?
Sorry, not German. Just used to spend a lot of time in Germany pre-COVID for work. Maybe one day soon I get back to the land of fantastic beer and bretzli.

Enjoy the Jeep - it must be a lot of fun on the autobahns ;)

Preventio done to door hinges and door panels.

Bought a new set of hinges, painted them satin black and repainted the doors.

Will put on a foil between doors and hinges in near future.

Also I will repaint the rear gate and the bonnet.

Because it is easier to mount them as they come from factory.

If you paint the doors, and then mount the hinges, you have to tightem them first.. then hang the door in, loosen the hinges again and adjust the door. Then tighten them again.

BUUUUT:
Then you will see markings in clear coat. To prevent those markings, I putted tape under the hinges. mounted the door. Adjusted them, then loosen hinge after hinge and remove the tape. This way, you won't have any markings on the clear coat.

BUUUUT:

That would be too expensive factory wise.

Hi Tobias,

nice pictures and nice Jeep! And I see you have a good taste in rifles, too. Is that a Tikka T3x TAC in a GRS Berserk Stock?

My real questions are for the cargo rack your rifle stands in:
Is it directly inserted to the US hitch receiver?
Did you get it in Germany or Europe, or did you have to import it from the US?

Thank you and best regards from the other side of Germany,

Dirk
