My unlimited Altitude came with Heavy-Duty brakes is there and difference between these and the Rubicon brakes? I am looking for Rubicon axles and wondering if my brakes will work

AnnDee, bigger on the High Altitude or the Rubicon? What about the unlimited Altitude are they the same as the Rubicon?
Bigger on the High Altitude.

Sorry didn't realize you were asking about a non-High Altitude (and I didn't even know it existed). Disregard my first post.

They’re the same brakes if they are the HD Brakes.
Thanks, When i looked this up on Mopar parts it says the HD brakes are only for the sport and Sahara. Does not say they work on the Rubicon.

I’ve been researching brakes lately because I need to do mine. Found some interesting things. Sport models are BRY, Willys/Sahara/Rubicon are BR6. High altitude models like yours are a BR5 brake code.

The heavy duty brakes on my Xtreme Recon have "392" embossed on the rear caliper brackets. Take a look and see if it says that on yours.

I’ve been shopping for brakes as well. Everything I find for my Rubicon is the same size rotor as I currently have 330mm front and 342mm Rear. All the brake kits I seem to find aren’t any bigger or better. At best you get a painted caliper and cross-drilled rotors. If anyone has found a better kit to upgrade a rubicon id love to hear from you. I’ll look into the high altitude if the rotors are bigger.

343mm front rotors and 360mm rear. At $1,200 from 4wheelparts, it's definitely the cheapest big brake kit on the market. Alcon and willwood have even better kits, but you're looking at 2-5× that price.

Rear: 328mm x 12mm
Caliper: 45mm (1.77')

Rubicon/Sahara
Front: 330mm x 28mm
Caliper: 51mm (2")

Rear: 342mm x 14mm
Caliper: 48mm (1.88") (Sahara, Sahara 4xe, Rubicon, Rubicon 4xe)

Sahara 4xe/Extreme Recon
Front Caliper: 51mm (2")

Rear: 345mm x 22mm
Caliper: 51mm (2")

Rubicon 4xe/Rubicon 392
Front Caliper: 51mm (2")

Rear: 350mm x 22mm

I hope this helps and doesn't generate a bunch of questions.

Hmmm why would the 4XE use the same brakes as the 392? Is it that much heavier?

I've been satisfied with the Rubi brakes, even on 37'' tires. I swapped the factory fluid with Motul DOT 5.1 and that greatly increased pedal feel/firmness.

I'll be upgrading to these when the factory wears out.

Yes, that's exactly why, it's heavier. It's the heaviest configuration, heavier than the 392.

Edited to add: Stellantis lists the 4xe as 5,100 lbs in the Sahara and 5,222 lbs in the Rubicon. The 392 curb weight is listed as 5,098.
