I tried searching but couldn't find anyone else posting this issue. When I'm driving in broad daylight, if I turn on the intermittent wipers my lights will turn on. Then when I turn off the wipers, the lights immediately turn off as well.

I've tested this over the span of a few days and it's happening regularly. Any ideas? (other than gremlins?:))

Theres a setting in the instrument cluster that can enable/disable that feature

Or maybe it’s in the radio, I forget which one but it can be disabled.

Many states require headlights on when using wipers.

I just checked mine. Go to settings on the stereo, select “headlights with wipers” and uncheck to box.
Mine is a Canadian model and not sure if the US models are different.

Thanks for the quick responses! The thought that this was a feature not a bug didn't even cross my mind. Thanks for clearing this up!

Necro bump, but does anyone know if the "headlights on with wipers" feature works on any setting or just on the 'auto' headlight settings?

Was driving in a light drizzle this morning with just my parking lights on and "headlights on with wipers" setting enabled on the uConnect. Pulled into the garage with the wipers still on the lowest setting and noticed the headlights weren't on. Just trying to figure out why they weren't working as expected.

Headlight switch has to be set to "Auto".

That's really dumb and should be noted in the owner's manual. Absolutely hate whoever programmed the JL headlights. Can't run "auto" since parking lights won't come on with DRL and now the "headlights with wipers" only working in "auto" mode.

Anyway, thanks for the clarification. Really do appreciate it!

Fwiw, lights on in the rain is usually more to let other drivers/people see your vehicle, not to illuminate the road for you.

It’s the law in several states…. Lights must be on when wipers are on
