Head Gasket at 3000 Miles?

30000 miles on my 2018 JL. kept getting a misfire in cylinder 6. dealer just diagnosed and told me faulty head gasket.

how did they come to this conclusion?

A couple of ways to find a faulty head gasket is by testing the coolant for CO2 or a compression check of the engine.

I’ve never had good luck long term with head gasket repairs. Hopefully you have some warranty left.

Is it a head gasket or valve cover gasket?

i thought the same

Could be a crack in the cyl head that is causing issues with the gasket. Be sure that they do proper inspection (e.g., dye penetration test )of the cyl head before the Jeep is repaired.

not common at all. The 3.6’s normal mechanical failures are the lifters and fuel injectors.

well took a full month finally got my jeep back today. at least he gave me a loaner. brand new upper cylinder head on the right side and a new head gasket

I’m glad they replaced the head...a slightly warped head can cause a lot of future problems.
