HDC (Hill Descent Control) normal noise?

Used the HDC yesterday for the first time. Actually kinda cool. But I have a question - it does have a strange noise - almost like ABS braking. I'm presuming that is normal since it is using the brakes?

Yes, completely normal, same thing for adaptive cruise control.
