Can't put a price on recreation.....
Spyder Bruiser Bumpers, rear seat delete system from "Goose Gear", Tazer, Rigid lights for bumpers, suspension, Seat covers, Winch, tires. Geez, there is no end in sight. About $14K and counting. And still no Jeep yet, it was ordered mid December. I will be a busy Beaver turning wrenches when that Bad Boy finally arrives.

I haven't, but I figured why not now (3PM on a Friday...). I bought what I could get right after COVID hit inventories and deals were abundant in May of 2020. Then I got to work on it.

Here's my list. All prices from memory, may be off a bit. Ends up around $7K, which was the discount I got on it when I bought. So I say I'm even. Haha.
  • Added Factory LEDs all around - $1,000
  • Tazer - $300
  • Added Proximity entry - $500
  • Center console safe - $100
  • Bought new in box premium soft top (Came with Hard Top) - $1,200
  • Rubicon wheels, tires, and suspension - $1,000
  • Level Kit - $50
  • Mopar Front Bumper and Bull Bar - $900
  • Go Rhino rear bumper - $450
  • Side step/rock sliders - $300
  • Tinted front windows - $150
  • Mopar floor mats and cargo cover - $300
  • Spidershade - $200
  • Powered hard top hoist - $350
  • New Front Speakers - $75
  • Factory Tow Package - $450
  • Soft Top Wall Storage - $220
  • Selling my Sahara wheels and tires - ($500)
The fun of having projects to do and building something pretty sweet-looking? Priceless

We were pretty much happy with everything about our Recon the way it came from the factory, thus not much in mod expenses. However, we've added the following, which adds up to a little under $200 total.

Rydonair 13” stubby antenna ($27)
Powdercoated hot pink tow hooks ($75)
Quadratec door sill guards ($57)
YOCTM Front and Rear Door Organizer Tray ($40)

I just added up all of the mods to my JLUR, not counting labor just the parts for my insurance and I am amazed, considering I have not done any of the big items like bigger axles or engine swaps. Also not counting the mistakes like early mods that have now been changed and it still comes out to almost half of what I paid for the Jeep when I bought it.
Is that wise? lol

$15k+ on mods on a $55k+ vehicle? No prob! A dollar more for gas though?!?! Oh the horror! We are a funny group.
You want an even funnier thought? How about that the 3.6 owners Insist on premium gas because it is so much better for their engines and the 2.0 owners refuse to use premium gas because it doesn't help them at all.

Happy to report Mercury will insure all of my extra bits, it will cost a bit but I am good with that, at least if the Jeep is stolen or wrecked I will recover most of that cost
