I have a 2020 JLUR 3.6 automatic. I was doing about 20 mph and stepped on the gas pretty hard. The engine revved really loud and it felt like it almost stalled. It then accelerated after a second or so. It sure didn't feel right. I will try to duplicate it tomorrow. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks.

Muffler bearings need replacing.
Any muffler shop should have them, unless it is under warranty.

How high did the tachometer go? They have rev limiters that could have kicked in if it downshifted to first

Possible transmission control module issue. The 8 spd can mis shift, feels like it is slipping, but a module issue.

Sounds like a bad torque converter.
A loose torque converter can sometimes sound like piston slap or a rod knock, but it's actually just the TC hitting the flywheel. While this definitely isn't good, all your technician typically has to do is tighten the bolts, as long as nothing else has been damaged yet :jk:;):)

Downshifted all the way to first and broke tire(s) loose. The "stall" effect you felt was traction control cutting fuel.

Beaups, that pretty much describes it. Is it designed to do that? It felt unsafe and not very healthy for the Jeep. I'm heading to the dealership on Wed for a different issue, is this something that can be fixed? Thx

Turn off traction control and/or don't floor it on slippery surface or while turning. Of course, I'm assuming that's what happened, but it sounds to me like it's working as intended.
