I'm considering it and want to hear some pros and cons. Thanks!

I thought about it on my JT, but rapidly dismissed the idea: it would make the top unduly heavy.
A JLU would be even worse with it's bigger top.

I was wondering abuot the additional weight. I've heard conflicting reports on how much weight it adds. Do you have any specifics on how much weight it adds?

No, unfortunately.
The DIY stuff that comes in gallon cans weighs about as much as roofing tar (10#?)
But a sprayed-on RhinoLiner is much thicker, so would weigh considerably more.
If I had to guess, I'd say upwards of 50 lbs..

rhino lining is softer and has more of a urethane feel to it. Kind of rubbery, not sure I'd like that on a top.

that's my JL getting sprayed in the thread @3VOLVE mentioned, FWIW, the owner told me about "Maybe 75-85 lbs" for the whole exterior of my 2 door. so you'd have to estimate how much of that is actually on the hardtop itself.

I have a JK with the roof Line-X'd. I'm happy with the results and would do it again. Previously, the surface scratched easily. Now, it's nearly indestructible.

It looks great! Thanks for the info. That's not bad at all on the extra weight.

Got the hardtop with the premium line-x. It has the uv protection so that should help with fading. Now trying to narrow down what roof rack I want and if I want to do a RTT.
