I got mine set up last week and it works great! Jeep gives a three month-1GB trial period to test it out and a couple of options for a monthly plan after this.
Go to this link and click on "Sign Up", then just follow the directions. Once the account is setup, go to UConnect Apps and go to the Wireless App and set a password then check the enable box.

Not at all sure why it is not working for you. This is exactly what I did and it is up and running. Strange?

Will this work for both 8.4 and 7? or 8.4 only?

Can WIFI work when the Wrangler isn't running? Would be great for camping when the vehicle isn't running.
Have not tried it but I would expect that it has to be running or at least have the Auxiliary engaged for power.

What's the pricing like for it? Do you need to commit to any length of term, or can you sign up for a road trip then turn it back off?

There were two options and I do not remember the data amount of the one because I went with the unlimited for $20 per month. It is a self renewing month to month that I can go in and disable online at will. So yes, you can enable it for a month for a trip then go in and turn it off.

I just enabled my WIFI in the Jeep and it started working. I assume it will stop working in a month or so and I will have to sign up.

Quick update. The dealership needs to turn it on when they set up your vehicle UConnect. Mine was not turned on. I'll have them do it on the first oil change.

Any idea if you can use your own SIM card with it? I use Project Fi for my cell service, so I can get a data-only SIM that's linked to my current data plan. It'd be great to be able to pop it in

I also just went in to my settings and turned the wifi on. I have a cell phone so this isnt necessary. I'm surprised your dealer activated your Uconnect for you. Mine just let me drive away making me figure out all that stuff wasn't even activated. They have a very poor process at my jeep dealer. The low prices reflect the low level of service lol. I mean they cant even get the inside windshield suction marks cleaned off before they deliver it to me.
