harken hoister questions

I did a search but couldn't find the answer...

When using the Harken Hoister, can you store it with the back window closed? It looks as if some people do and some people don't. Thanks!

I store mine with the window closed

Depends how you raise the top. If you run the straps front to back through the rear window then you have to have the rear window open. If you use Topsy hooks or another lifting method that doesn't run thru the rear of the top you should be able to lift with it closed. I use Topsy hooks on my top with a Harken hoist and store the top closed.
