I suggest wrapping the areas I highlighted in blue. You can rest the top on the front 2x4 but I prefer to have it rested on the side rails behind that 2x4. The areas I highlighted are or could be the main contact points. Hope this helps, I can grab a few pictures more if you need some.

Thank you so much for the illustration.
It’s more than enough.
I will manage with that.
Much appreciated again.
Cheers.

Copied and built today. I went even cheaper - I used the foam out of the soft top box ass stops for the top. Worked great. $27 worth of parts, $14 of which was nice castor's with locks .

I found these plans:
http://www.wranglerforum.com/attach...1895369&v=9dmH8YpJ1ic&event=video_description
... from this video:

What I'd really love is a way to store the hard top and doors within the same footprint similar to how this works:
https://www.bestop.com/hoss-full-system/

Unfortunately, this is not something you'd be able to make out of wood because of all the weight hanging out there.
What I'd like to see is something similar to this wooden cart but where the hard top is upside down. If that were the case, then I'd be able to store the doors within the same footprint.

Thanks very much for the detailed explanation, i built mine this weekend. I have a question about the 1x4 board, does your wiper sit on this board? I placed 6" from the front board and my wiper sits on it. Wasn't sure if that is right. Thank you again

Mine sits just shy of the wiper. I do not see an issue with it on the wiper as long as it does not put pressure that could cause the glass to shatter. If you want it to rest only on the glass, you could easily unscrew and slide front or back :)
