Dropped my Jeep off on Monday the 14th for wind noise and whistling. I have a whistling sound that's audible starting at around 25 mph, and excessive wind-tunnel sounds starting around 40mph, to the point where I can't have a conversation with someone in the passenger's seat without yelling.

Service manager drove it on Monday after I dropped it off - said he heard both sounds and they were definitely not right.

They spent the next week and a half (up to today) taping off different areas and working with Jeep via a Star case to figure out what was wrong.

During this process, I was assigned a case manager... Who hasn't answered my calls or called me back in the past week.

Today, got a call from my service manager saying that a Jeep engineer and tech advisor drove the Jeep today... And stated that the sounds (including the whistle) are a normal result of the new windshield design. From the service manager's point of view, although he agrees with me that the condition is not normal or acceptable, there's nothing further they can do.

@JeepCares - How is this an acceptable answer?!

At a loss for how to proceed from here, and extremely disappointed with the way Jeep is handling it.

This should be easy to quantify, get a noise (dB) meter and collect data on your Wrangler and borrow one of the dealer lot and take the same measurements. I hate it when dealers say something clearly unacceptable is ā€œnormalā€, itā€™s like there telling me Iā€™m either stupid or lying.

That is a great idea for someone with a YouTube channel! FCA canā€™t argue with the presentation of facts that way. The more publicity the more attention theyā€™ll pay to it.

I got my new and first 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited latest edition 15 days ago and took it to Long drive last week and have same issue as with everyone. Loud deafening noise above 50mph and its unbearable and earlier i thought that it might be a Jeep thing but after looking at this Forum seems like it is a big Defect. Booked an appointment with Dealer for coming Tuesday. Not very positive as he said on the phone "Never had any complaints before". Seems like rushed to spend 65k+Financing.

Go back through this thread and get a bunch of information to give them. FCA has issued some service notices dealers are not aware of. Also, message @JeepCares with your phone #, VIN, service dealership, and date/time of your appointment. Unfortunately, as Iā€™m sure youā€™ve read, dealerships arenā€™t the best at staying up to date with things and they tend to shrug their shoulders and give you the ā€œitā€™s a Jeepā€ b.s. response.

I had the same experience. I was told the noise was normal and the dealership documented that I agreed it was normal. I did not. I agreed that all the Jeeps that I took on a test drive had the same issue. Obviously they do not have a fix and we need to turn up our radios and never call anyone using u connect.

I have a factory installed hard top on my JL Sport. I drove it 500 miles last weekend. With the windows up and AC running I had no noise. With the windows down I have to crank up the radio just like I do with my other vehicles. I think I got lucky. I still want the head liners to cut the heat down though. That will be a future upgrade.

I havenā€™t had a Wrangler in many years but this bitch is dam loud! Iā€™ve got no whistles or buffeting but honestly it all seems to be next to the doors. I may play around with taping off sections just to see! I can easily deal with it as is but I love to tinker with things so I may start adding thin sections of door sealing strips just to see if the sound changes.
