I know for a fact and have posted on this before. In my 5/6 windshield replacements in my JK, I kept getting a whistle at about 35 40 mphs. FINALLY, I found a knowledgeable Safelite tech who explained that because there is no frsme/trim around the window, that a tech coukd place that windshield in a thousand ways. But if it wasn't placed perfect you could get the whistle. He was telling me this as he was replacing a "whistler". When he did it, whistle gone. So if you are getting g that whistle (not the same thing as the disturbing 89 MPH video recently posted here) and you see the placement is off, it should be a simple fix. New windshield. I'm not sure if they can save an existing one..
Windshields can be removed and reset, but again, they might develop that whistle. You definitely have to make sure the installer knows what they are doing.

Just got my Jeep back from the dealer for excessive wind noise. It only happens above 78 or 79 AND with a crosswind.

Dealer told me they can't drive it that fast legally anywhere around here (DFW) and that wind noise is to be expected going that fast.

Here is the noise I'm talking about. This is not normal wind noise. It sounds like a bearing burning up in a bathroom exhaust fan.
Hey were you ever able to get this figured out? Have the same issue. Mine sounds like its coming out of the front driver side speaker. (I actually thought it was bluetooth noise feedback at first.) i removed the windshield and put it back on with no luck.

People who never drove a Jeep before and as such are complaining about something that has existed as a result of the aerodynamic characteristics (or lack there of) on jeep wranglers. My message to annoying rich people who want to buy into this “club” or “scene”: hold on to your 85k infinity suv because jeeps have wind and road noise...

So tell us more about the difference between the noise of wind rolling over the Jeep vs wind leaking through seals?

That wind noice is brutal! I would have lost my $#!T. I hope this issue will be fixed ASAP. Is the problem the lighter composite the roof is made from?
On the one I test drove it sounded just like that. That’s why I didn’t and wouldn’t buy one. If there ends up being a fix then I’m in.

There is a significant difference in a $5,000 TJ and the $50,000 JLU. You can't just accept every deficiency as "it's a Jeep thing". At some point, you would start to think that jeeps are a big PoS.

Hate to be that guy...but frankly, they are. Compared to the build quality of most other vehicles on the road, they would be considered that. They're loud, they have a rough ride, the road-handling is awful (compared to other vehicles in its price-range), the gas mileage is deplorable, the reliability ratings aren't too positive, and I can't wait to get mine :) (I love how people compare the Wrangler to other SUV's in its class....when it really is in a class all by itself. You'd be hard-pressed to find a sub-$50K vehicle with as much off-road prowess right off the showroom floor and also have a 4-door convertible.)

It’s not about it being a “Jeep thing” it’s about people trying to buy into a aesthetic or scene without fully considering the conciquences. Ask people like me who have been loyal to the brand since high school. Yea we’ll point out the short comings and where it could be better. But also appreciate the True spirit of the vehicle. Complaining about wind noise is just annoying and kind of shows yr hand...

Don’t forget they won’t have lockers or 33’s standard or removable top etc...!
