This works well on the top and aftermarket rails/ bumpers:

C'mon Ryan @Modeldude are you really being reasonable?

Isn't it asking a lot for the factory or the dealer to have black touch up paint? I mean c'mon it's not as if tremendous numbers of people have the black hard top that you'd expect either to stock it, would you?

I mean maybe if it was Pumpkin color or something.....sure.

(This is a little like a McDonald's employee waiting on line in uniform and on duty at a Burger King to get a burger patty to use on his customer's order back at the McDonalds because MickeyD's is out of burger patty stock. I can have a running stock of this paint as an owner but an institution can't?)

That's not Sharpie, and frankly I'd rather they used Sharpie vs that. That's your dealer very poorly covering an issue. Typical workmanship by people who just don't care because it's not mine, so who cares? All too typical.

Now I see it, that is pretty bad. They should have covered the entire top with the sharpie, then you wouldn't have noticed.

Looking at all the scratches on my black top, thinking of getting a sharpie out...

Honestly OP, maybe just get a sharpie and run that all the way around the drip rail so it looks intentional? Like a pin stripe?

I scratch my hard top every time I take it off or put it back on. I've come to accept it as a Jeep thing. A super thin layer of black paint over white fiberglass is no doubt asking for trouble. From 10 feet away you would never know I touch it up. To the OP's point though, a dealer should be ashamed for using a sharpie. At least use Rustoleum.

I guess the factory was all out of their own touchup spray and used a sharpie....

Scratched mine the first day I had it. a little touch up paint and it still looks like crap...Oh well it is a Jeep.
