I used a piece of tape to hold the nut in place, then carefully threaded it. It was a pain, but that helped.

The amount of duct tape I used on the inside on unseen areas was unreal. And yes taped the bolts on fairlead so they wouldn’t pop out while I screwed in. (Also had this super handy tool for fishing out dropped bolts inside bumper - I’ll link in subsequent post) Used this hyper pink duct tape I had bought for creating random crap for my 3 yr old daughter. From the outside you would never know the extreme level of pink duct tape inside.

Here are the pliers I referenced earlier. Saved me too many times fishing dropped bolts out of the finished out bumper/plate setup while installing the fairlead (mine weren’t curved but similar)

I've been researching winches as my naked bumper needs some clothes. The new Harbor Freight Badland Apex winch has been on my list as well as similar offerings from Quadratech and Smitty. I noticed the price has now been lowered for the HF winch to $630. With the 20% coupon the price is j View attachment 352072

ust over $500. This price is now very compelling and brings it to the top of my list for the features it incorporates.

Reviews I have read and viewed seem to be very positive. Can anyone provide additional input regarding your usage experience?

You are right!! I’m sorry. There have been two posts of installation with Mopar one. One guy had no fit issue and the other did. He said you could barely slide a piece of paper through the space. Not sure how the two could be so different with same hoop?

I have been running a Mopar hoop style winch guard with 7 Inch LCD lights on a factory steel bumper. Just had a Warn Zeon Platinum 10k pound winch installed by 4Wheel Parts.

With winch in place, I had to remove the hoop and lights because the guard was too low, and didn’t clear the winch top.

Mopar Accessories catalogue shows a photo (see attached)of a Warn in a steel bumper, and the hoop guard in place. The only thing I can figure is that it was a lighter and smaller 8k winch that sat slightly lower.

I’m now looking to remount my lights in a Mopar bumper bracket. Hope this works, but I’m still without a hoop guard.

I made my own bumper And winch plate. Wanted something different than the bumpers that were available, plus used the factory tow hooks. Installed the warn winch cover for the zeon series winches and it fits perfect. I can get at all the controls without removing the cover.

If anybody needs a set of the spacers let me know. I ordered them based on feedback here that lots of folks needed them to get above the bumper, but my LOD bumper fit the winch just fine.

I got my cover like yours and installed it yesterday but I wasn't sure what those pull strings were for. I was able to get the elastic straps around the winch body, but those pull strings I can figure out what to do with them. Did you use those?
