I’ve been a long time hammock camper and have been hoping to figure out a way to hang in my Wangler.
Really impressed with how well this is working and wanted to share if others have been thinking of giving it a try.
I’m not terribly tall 5’7” and I’m using an ENO Singlenest hammock.
I’ve got one end knotted once without its carabiner adjusted over the roll bar at the passenger side window and secured in the door jam and the other end wrapped twice and secured with a carabiner at the back drivers side roll bar. (I know they aren’t technically called roll bars, but you know what I mean.)
I think I may use a rubber ball in the passenger side door jam end for a little extra stability eventually, but right now this is working surprisingly well! Zero damage or marks to the Wrangler too.
Hit me up if you have other hammock tricks or tips.

I just can’t see how that would be comfortable. Metal tube on your neck. Metal tube on your calves. No thanks. Tie one end of a hammock to the rollbar or tow hook, other end to a tree or another Jeep.
Yeah you'd definitely need to add some padding. I still don't know why FCA decided to stop putting padding on the Jeeps. I'm sure cost was a factor. :like:

Why don't you remove your back seat to give you more room?

Oh, I intend on removing the back seat for trips, but have to say — if you wanted to leave the back seat in, it doesn’t actually get in the way of the hammock.

This is awesome. I've been curious about how that'd work but by eyeballing it I figured that it'd be a tad too short to work out comfortably. Not only is it working but you can leave the rear seat in? Crazy. Gonna give it a shot for sure.

Sorry to be the negative Nancy but for me, I’m only 3” taller and couldn’t imagine myself fitting in that hammock. My biggest concern is the material squeezed through your door and roof seals. Plus that ball pulled up against my paint would be a no no for me.
I’m not trying to knock you. I agree the front seat of a JL is not the most comfortable place to take a nap.

I think the front seats are very comfortable for sleeping. Top off and leaned back. Have slept in mine like that camping, Slept like a baby and woke up not sore. Disclaimer is that I sleep sitting up often...
