I had mopar half doors for my JK, loved them. I was able to pick up a set of JL doors to mod into half doors. Has anyone attempted this challenge? Any thoughts? Thx!

I think you would have to be an incredibly skilled welder and very patient to get these to look nice. But, it would be pretty cool.

It might be easier to take a set of JL full doors and modify them.

That’s what he said he’s doing though.
:CWL:. I just read too fast...I thought he was taking JK half doors and making them work.

Now I'm REALLY interested in this!

DCD Customs has and can do this to perfection. I don’t know costs but it’s immaculate.

Yes, they are excellent, however out of my price range. Not sure they have done JL doors yet. Very tricky

I wanted to do exactly what you're doing. I just can't find a set of doors to do it with. Well, not a set of salvaged doors anyway. I only want to do the back doors, and don't want to pay msrp for doors that I'm going to cut up, weld, grind, etc. I don't care if the top half is damaged, if the windows are broken, or what color i find, since I'm chopping the top half off and they'll need painted. I should be able to find a set eventually.
Looking forward to seeing yours. Let me know if there's anything crazy I should know about for when I finally find a set of rear doors to modify.

Yes. The biggest challenge was the was the internals of the door, the interior panel and lock location. To move all that was not cost effective, would have been a ton. I’ll post pics Monday.

So what did you do, delete those functions?
