1. Remove the interior strap handle. Use a Hex #6 wrench for the 4 cover bolts and a metric #7 socket for the lower screws.
2. With a trim tool remove the widow slot covers, and the cover under the interior door handle. Use a Torx #30 bit to remove the bolt under the door handle.
3. Remove two screws at the lower part of the door panel with a Torx #20 bit.
4. Using a trim tool and hands pull the inner door panel to release the hidden clip fasteners. 4 pins across the top and 5 more around the lower section. This requires a good bit of force to release the clips.
5. Release the lock and latch cables from the inner handle by slipping the cable through the side opening. Remove from the clips on the door panel.
6. Disconnect the wiring harness by using a trim tool to release 5 push pins. Also need a metric #10 socket for the bolt through the strap. Tuck the whole harness inside the door.
7. On each end of the weatherstripping are 2 push pins. One on top and the second in the side. Use a trim tool to remove and then slide the entire strip out one end.
8. Under the weatherstripping at the latch is a hole that is now visible. Using a Torx #25 screwdriver loosen the captive bolt until it begins to resist. It will not fall out. Flipping the door over you can now remove the rear block from the exterior handle assembly. Slide the handle towards the latch edge and lift away from the door. Remove the remaining trim cover with a trim tool.
The door is now disassembled enough for prep and painting. To remove the latch assembly will require removing the three bolts surrounding the latch
