1. Remove the exterior mirror using a Torx #40 bit to remove 3 bolts. Separate the mirror from the door and disconnect the electrical connector.
2. Remove the interior strap handle. Use a Hex #6 wrench for the 4 cover bolts and a metric #7 socket for the lower screws.
3. With a trim tool remove the widow slot covers, the button cap on top near the mirror, and the cover under the interior door handle. Use a Torx #30 bit to remove the bolt under the door handle.
4. Remove two screws at the lower part of the door panel with a Torx #20 bit. Remove another screw that was revealed from under the button cap
5. Using a trim tool and hands pull the inner door panel to release the hidden clip fasteners. 3 pins across the top and 5 more around the lower section. This requires a good bit of force to release the clips.
6. Release the lock and latch cables from the inner handle by slipping the cable through the side opening.
7. This door includes the proximity unlock sensor and exterior handle lock button. Release 3 harness connectors from the proximity lock mechanism (small black tab), interior lock switch (pull back the white connector then pinch), and the mirror controls (lift the white retaining clip). Also release the harness connector located on the front of the exterior door handle
8. Disconnect the wiring harness by using a trim tool to release 12 push pins. Also need a Torx #30 bit for the footman loop holding the strap. Tuck the whole harness inside the door.
9. On each end of the weatherstripping are 2 push pins. One on top and the second in the side. Use a trim tool to remove and then slide the entire strip out one end.
10. In front of the weatherstripping at the latch are 2 holes. They are covered with a black adhesive sticker. Using a Torx #25 screwdriver loosen each captive bolt until they begin to resist. The bolts will not fall out. Flipping the door over you can now remove the rear block from the exterior handle assembly. Slide the handle towards the latch edge and lift away from the door. Remove the remaining trim cover with a trim tool. Use a trim tool to lift the lock cylinder from the housing inside the door.
The doors are now disassembled enough for prep and paint. To remove the latch mechanism the three bolts at the latch will need to be removed.
