Have had a manual Rubicon for a week now and haven't experienced anything like you are describing. Clutch and transmission have been surprisingly smooth.Anyone with a manual transmission experience an odd grinding/modulating feel in the clutch pedal when engaged? I also feel it if can feel it it I touch my foot to the pedal when at a steady speed. No noise, I just feel it.
Yeah, I don’t think it did it when I picked it up last week. I would have been all over it. I’ll take by the dealer and see what they have to say.Have had a manual Rubicon for a week now and haven't experienced anything like you are describing. Clutch and transmission have been surprisingly smooth.
Post an update when you know, please. Would like to keep an eye out for these kinds of things....Yeah, I don’t think it did it when I picked it up last week. I would have been all over it. I’ll take by the dealer and see what they have to say.
Hi Jeffinstl,UPDATE:
I drove another manual JLUR and it has the same grinding feeling in the clutch pedal so it's either inherent to the JL or we both have an issue. I can make the feeling more noticeable if I disengage the clutch (depress the pedal) and rev the engine. I have an appointment with the dealer in a week and I going to keep it to see what they say (I'm sure I know how it's going to go down).
Fore reference, my manual JK did not have this grinding feeling but I know they are different transmissions so...

I’m curious if you rev the engine with the clutch disengaged (pedal in), do you feel a vibration in the clutch pedal?Hi Jeffinstl,
Any updates on this? I have a 6sp manual, and I do feel a very slight friction in the clutch. I thought it was just how JL's clutch feel, but I would love to hear what your dealer says regarding this issue.
I rev the engine with clutch in and feel no vibration in the clutch. But I can feel very very small friction which I though was normal.I’m curious if you rev the engine with the clutch disengaged (pedal in), do you feel a vibration in the clutch pedal?
I haven't experienced anything like that, but I never kick the clutch. I wouldn't call what I do "gentle" but maybe smooth. I sense no issues, vibrations, or any unusual noises in my clutch or shifter.I rev the engine with clutch in and feel no vibration in the clutch. But I can feel very very small friction which I though was normal.
However, another issue do bothers me a lot. Almost every day, I hear a loud "GeDeng" sound when I clutch in to get out of the 1st gear for the first time. For example, here is my afternoon routine:
Backing out of the parking spot:clutch in=> reverse =>clutch out, clutch in => neutral=>clutch out. No Issues
Moving forward: clutch in=>1st gear=>clutch out, no issues so far.....however, when I clutch in again to get out of the 1st, I hear a "GeDeng" sound. It is pretty loud especially in a parking garage. It almost seems like I kick the clutch too hard. But this only happens to me when getting out of 1st. If I just clutch in very slowly and lightly, it doesn't happen...Isn't this weird? After the car warms up, I don't hear the sound. For example, a full stop and then go from a red light. It does not happen in the morning either. I roll down all my windows just to hear it, and there is nothing. Really strange.
@Jeffinstl and @DanW , do you experience this at all? Should I not kick the clutch and just gently press it all the way down like a brake petal?
Appreciate for any inputs.
