Thank you. I will keep playing with my clutch and see if I can figure this out.

My Sahara just hit 2000 miles and within the last 100, this same issue has developed. It feels like a clutch cable going bad even though I know the clutch is hydraulic and it is best described as a gritty feeling that only occurs when the Jeep is running. It did not feel like this for the first 1900 miles and I will certainly bring it up at my first service if not before.

Anyone with a manual transmission experience an odd grinding/modulating feel in the clutch pedal when engaged? I also feel it if I touch my foot to the pedal when at a steady speed. No noise, I just feel it.
I get the same feeling with the 2018 JKU too. And I drove 2017 JK Sahara and it gives that same feeling.
And I feel that only when I press the clutch at 3000 rpm. Don't get that at 2700 rpm or below.

If what I described above is your situation too, don't worry, nothing wrong, it is a Jeep thing and because it is a truck tranny. Not as smooth or quiet as a car's manual transmission.

I find this ridiculous. My JLUR also has a grinding feeling in the clutch. I' v drive Cj,Yj,Tj,Jk and never had this issue. I feel like They actually fucked up and are covering this up. Not even 8spd manual water trucks that i have driven have this issue. $40k SUV with grinding and steering wheel play WTF.

I noticed this too primarily when shifting to third while letting out the clutch. But when I try to shift to third slower and release my clutch at a slower pace, I don’t feel the slight grinding.

The only thing I’ve noticed is you need to release the clutch slower than with most other cars... nothing you can’t get used to; other than that, no complaint yet ;)

Is this officially added to the list of JL problems? Might be shorter to list things that don't have known issues in the coming months

I also have the same grinding feeling but it does it while the engines is off or on. Mostly in the pedal assembly where I can also feel it in the break pedal while it is engaged while moving the clutch pedal. More like a rubbing issue. The clutch engages fine.

I feel the grinding in the clutch pedal, when I move the shifter out of 3rd as I’m downshifting.

It's a Jeep guys.. also if you read the manual that comes with the car it says specifically that the transmission likes to make noise and you will feel it. It's not a porsche so idk why you expect a top of the line trans. Also @zyt why on Earth would you sit there and rev the engine with the clutch pedal pushed in and releasing it. Are you trying to burn your clutch?? ‍♂

Yeah, I’ve driven most types of vehicles with manual transmissions and none of them have done this, ergo my comment. $50k vehicles don’t get a pass

Did you ever get anywhere on this? I'm experiencing the same thing in my JLUR. It has about 700 miles on it. It's felt that way since I picked it up after being built. I started researching it because I didn't recall the JLUR I test drove feeling the same. I had it back at the dealer today to pick something up and asked to test drive another manual. The feel was completely different. Granted it was a sport, so obviously gears are going to feel different, but the clutch pedal was very smooth regardless of whether I was in neutral or in gear. Mine is fine in neutral and only seems gritty when shifting through the gears. Anyway, was just curious if you ever got anywhere with your dealer. I just scheduled an appointment to take mine in.
