I want to keep track of the progress I make with my Jeep and how much money I dump into it so I figured this would be the best way. I purchased a 2018 Granite Jeep JLU Sport on a Friday afternoon. The next morning my two sons (6 and 9) and I packed a bag and drove 11 hours to Washington D.C. to catch a Braves game at Nationals Park that weekend. The boys want to travel to all 30 ballparks so this was our first trip to another park other than Suntrust Park in Atlanta. This is my first Jeep so I don’t have any experience with other models to compare it too, but I was impressed with the ride and how it handled on the trip. I ended up putting over 1300 miles on it the first weekend. I had an initial budget of $3000 saved for mods after I purchased it so I wanted to start with a lift, wheels, and tires.

Total parts cost: $2,514 after taxes/shipping

I called around and 4Wheel Parts quoted me around $460 to do the install so I should be able to keep everything under my $3,000 budget when it’s all done. I scheduled the install for 08/29/18.

I’ll post more pics once the lift is installed.

Please post when everything is installed. I would love to hear your thoughts tab on the fabtech lift. That seems like an affordable option.

UPDATE

08/28/18: Had the front windows tinted to match the back- $100
Removed the Euro bumper parts to accommodate the bigger tires.

08/29/18: Dropped the Jeep off at 4 Wheel Parts to have the lift installed. I got a call a couple hours later saying my wheels that they said were in the store were not there and that it would be a couple days before they got them. They offered to look for different wheels that they could get that day and later offered me 3 different styles they found. I ended up going with the 17” Fuel Anza in anthracite which cost $147 more in the end but I do like them.

I snapped a few pics at work today. So far I’m happy with the ride and love the look. The Jeep drives and handles good and really doesn’t even seem to struggle with the larger tires. I need to get my speedometer recalibrated, when the speedo says 60MPH I’m doing 70MPH

Haha, not yet. I haven’t decided what spare tire carrier and bumpers I want.

That looks really nice. Any idea what your gas mileage is? Have you gotten the speedo fixed yet?

The FedEx guy really left them in your driveway like that? What the hell?!

Did you ever regear or swap axles for the 37’s?

No I still have the stock axles and gears.
How’s the drive? I’m on stock gearing with the 33 ko2’s and 5th gear is barely useful and 6th is useless.

I don’t really notice much of a difference that’s the only reason I haven’t changed them yet. It still gets up to speed with ease and cruises down the highway fine.
